Thursday, February 29, 2024: Day 388, Tahiti, Baby!!

It is very humid here. Every man is wearing floral island shirts. Rob is not. Everyone is wearing sandals. We are wearing hiking boots. Our clothing is dark. Everyone else is wearing light colors: khaki and linen. BUT, I have a bikini in my bag and Rob has a Speedo in his bag so we are sure to fit in eventually!!

We took a 30-minute ferry from Tahiti to Moorea. In the reception area of our resort, we were greeted with a beautiful aromatic lei and cold scented white washcloth and a fruit drink. All were most appreciated.
Rob chose an overwater bungalow at the end of the pier for additional privacy.
The room is a “whoa dad” as there is a glass plate for viewing fish below our floor. We haven’t seen any yet.
But we did take a swim in the lagoon off of our back deck.
There is a shower and a tub.
We had lunch at a nearby garden cafe. We will spend most of our time at our resort to make the most of the amenities that they offer.
Brown noddys are our constant visitor. When they speak, it sounds like a loud creaky door. We saw a greater crested tern gobble down a fish. It took several swallows.
We have a long walk to our bungalow but the privacy is soooo worth it!
A picture from our bathroom looking out to the deck.
Rob is snorkeling under our bungalow. I took this picture looking through the viewing glass in our room.
There is a light that one can turn on to attract the fish at night. It is mesmerizing!!
Sweet dreams!!
