February 10, 2026:  Barbados

Rob lost his hat. That is one thing that you don’t want to be without so we bought a new one first thing off the boat. (We later located the original hat in the Lost and Found.)

Bridgetown is the capital and largest city. The island is known for the sun, sand, and sea. Rhianna is from here.

Barbados was a British territory until 1966. Now the West African, Portuguese, Creole, Indian, and British cultures blend together to create the Bajan (pronounced BAY-jun) way of life.

In the oceanside park, this man is making a steel drum.
Here is his view. People who went to the beaches said that it was too rough, and many tourists were in trouble with the ten foot waves … but not the surfers.
A building from the past.
This church had a special parking spot for the organist.
We ditched the tourist areas and headed to where the locals do their shopping.
Most of the shops had mannequins that had big bottoms. It makes sense because many of the women in the islands have this build. I noted that the men are very tall.

Onboard Entertainment

Deal or No Deal. We had three cards, and if the amount behind the number that the contestant chose matched your card, you got an instant win card.
On an Instant Win card, there were 15 chances that were like a slot machine. I won $1.

Comedienne Maija DiGiorgio was very entertaining. Her mother is black and her father is Sicilian so her comedy reflected her experiences growing up. She is single and lives in LA which hard for anyone.

Magician Rob Rasner had magic that one would shake their heads saying “How did he do that?’
And last but not least, the ever present Bingo. When one needs only one square, they stand up and everyone boos.

And now for our own entertainment with NO PICTURES:

My daughter loaned me her bikini. She made me feel good that she thought my 68-year-old body would be able to fit in a size 4, very cheeky bikini.

We learned that the hot tubs were open until midnight and decided that they might be vacant at that time.

In a full coverup, Rob took my hand as we went to the pool deck under the cover of darkness … except for the spotlight on the four hot tubs.

There were two young couples in the hot tubs so I quickly removed my coverup and scurried to one of the hot tubs hoping to conceal my small articles of clothing.

One of the guys yelled “Yeah Party!” We stayed in the hot tub until the coast was clear!!
