July 14, 2025: Elisabeth

We took a train from Copenhagen to Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city.
The views are green and flat, and there are many lakes.

We grabbed a bite to eat in Gothenburg and then left on a 30-minute local train to the suburb of Lerum, Sweden.

Is this a space ship or water tower??
In Lerum, we met with one of my dear college roommates, Elisabeth.

Elisabeth was a graduate research assistant at the University of Washington in Seattle. My other roommate Peggy and I had secured an off campus 2-bedroom apartment. The rent was $350 per month. We were willing to share the larger room ($200) since we were used dorm living so we were looking for another person to pay for the other room ($150). So Elisabeth came into our lives.

We all got along great. But soon we all went our separate ways. I told Elisabeth that someday, I would come to visit her in Sweden. Today was the day.

Elisabeth had just purchased a condo and took possession of it two weeks ago. She was a very accommodating host.

We had a great time remembering the old days. She is not married but is seeing Staffan. He came over for dinner.

Elisabeth claims that she doesn’t cook, but the meal was delicious. Notice her knife that looks like a saw.

We scheduled a WhatsApp call with Peggy who still lives in Seattle, WA, where we have such fond memories. We laughed a lot!!!

Today Elisabeth is a Life Coach and arranges many events like Speed Dating and Alone Together outings. She is an extrovert with an easy laugh. We will have some fun together in the next few days.
