Saturday 28, 2024: Bush Walk with Zambo

Our honeymooners are all decked out in their safari gear from Milan and ready for our walking safari or bush walk.

Zambo took 10 minutes to get HIS gear ready. I am pretty sure that he likes us but his name IS Zambo!!!

So off we go!!

Single file, no talking, hand signals…I’m scared!!!

Be prepared to see things most adventurers never get the opportunity to see.

Our first stop was a bone yard of sorts. Were we to be the next addition?

A closeup of elephant molars
It rained briefly in the night and we observed sparse raindrops in the dry sand. The rain really made an impression.
The baobob is a tree of life as it has many uses. It is medicinal and used to treat malaria. Elephants have rubbed and eaten a lot of the bark.

The baobob tree does not have rings. It is hard to determine the age of a tree as the size depends on soil and water conditions. A baobab tree which can live for 3,000 years. (I wonder who was the scientist that determined that!!)

I was never sure if we were animal trackers or poop trackers.

Zambo told us to look at the bottom of our shoes!!

It was covered with all sorts of stickers. No wonder some of the cats walk with a limp!!
These are called devils horns! It kind of reminds me of a golf ball greens marker!
This is a closeup of an elephant poop.
Not only is this elephant diarrhea…it’s an all out blowout that covers at least 10 yards (much of it couldn’t be captured in this rare photo!!)
