Tuesday, February 27, 2024: Day 386 – Withdrawal, Rest and Recuperation

We spent the night at a hotel near the Hobart Airport and did laundry. We had no more clean clothes and our feet and knees hurt. We miss the fun but are happy for the break. We were so tired that Rob forgot to put soap in the washing machine!!!

We had breakfast, and Rob got a croissant. He was wondering what to put on it. I suggested the Australian oddity of Vegemite. The French would be appalled.

At the airport, we were asked about 30 questions at passport control. He wanted to know weird things like why we came to Tasmania, what did we do, will you come back, etc. etc. etc. I am surprised that he didn’t ask for my underwear size.

We saw Claudia from our tour. She was on the same flight to Auckland. She also commented about the numerous questions.

Boarding our flight from Hobart to Auckland.

We watched a lot of game shows on TV. The Chase and Tipping Point are based on random facts. Mastermind was different because the contestant was quizzed on their specific area of expertise. One man’s was superheros and another’s was a specific author that I had never heard of. Anyway, I wondered what topic that I had a depth of knowledge. I couldn’t think of one. My older brother who is a cardiologist would choose The Heart. My other brother would be Flat Earth!! Both are VERY knowledgeable about their topics so each would win Mastermind.
