Friday, February 16, 2024: Day 375 – 39 is Remarkable

Today is our 39th wedding anniversary. We slept late recalling all the memories of our life together and look forward to starting our 40th year.

Rob scheduled an elegant high tea overlooking Lake Wakatipu. Once we arrived they showed us to our white -clothed table. We rejected the location as it was so bright that even sunglasses would not have helped!!!
The evening included a boat ride on the TSS Earnslaw, an old coal powered steamship. We were able to see the inner workings of the power room.

The stokers are working very hard in hot sweaty conditions.

Along the lake are huge mountains that they call the Remarkables. What a cool name!! We ended the evening with a lovely dinner at a popular Vietnamese restaurant. The whole day was remarkable!
