Wednesday, January 24, 2024: Day 352 – I Can See Clearly Now

Clouds lifted, but checkout was at ten. Hiking with suitcases would not be a good idea. With time on our hands, we opted for miniature golf.

Hazards and obstacles are part of golf but I had never seen a bush growing in the middle of miniature golf turf.
Water hazards were a remnant of yesterday’s rain.

It was a CLOSE match. I played well except for those dastardly ant hills. Rob and I were tied with the 18th hole left to go. It was a par 3. I addressed the ball first and scored 7. It was a difficult uphill hole. (The maximum allowed in New Zealand is a generous 10.) Rob sauntered up to give it his best shot. He scored 3.

Kiwiparks are where campers can park and tap into services like laundry and showers. This one was right next to the bus stop. We left National Park (that is the name of the city) and went to Palmerston North to stay with my dear friend from my college days at the University of Washington.
Look at that view!! The only thing missing on the day after the deluge was the rainbow!!
