This is the view of Soviet-era apartments and rooftops from our hotel in Almaty.
We left early and saw the Zailisky Ala-Too mountains on the way to the airport. I was fascinated by them and wished that we could have gotten a closer look.
On the plane, I saw the mountains again. I think that Almaty is an interesting city with a blend of cultures. I would like to return.
